Homework

“Strong school-home partnerships help build great learners”

Our aim at Tahatai Coast School is to best meet the needs and wants of our community and the individual children in each classroom.

At TCS Parents/caregivers decide which homework, if any, their child will receive each week.
In some circumstances, a teacher will recommend for example that a child completes reading each night or to complete a certain area of basic facts, based on need.  This is communicated to you by the classroom teacher.

Homework provided in all year levels consists of reading, basic facts and a spelling or grammar activity.  A book that your child has already read at school will be sent home from Monday to Thursday in Years 0-3 and for the children in Years 4-8 who need extra reading mileage.  It is expected that all homework completed each week by your child will be marked and/or feedback provided by their classroom teacher. For our children in Years 0-2 we strongly recommend that they complete homework tasks as they are learning fundamental skills to succeed in their schooling.
